A donor's profile brings together everything DonorAtlas knows about a person. This article covers the About card — the donor's bio, education, and career history — plus relationships, contact info, and your team's notes.
Below is the real About card, filled in for Eric Schmidt. Expand the work history, and click any citation to open its source:
On a real profile, clicking an employer or school opens that organization's own DonorAtlas page, with its people, finances, and connections.
The About card's header has a button, which re-researches the donor and posts a summary of what changed. To learn when to use Refresh vs. Enhance, see Creating & enhancing profiles.
The Relationships card lists the donor's known family and associates: spouse, children, siblings, and colleagues, each with a citation. If a person has their own DonorAtlas profile, their name links straight to it.
Check the spouse's profile before an ask. Couples often give together, and giving history and capacity are frequently split across the household.
To get a donor's contact details, scroll to the Contact Info card and click the button. You'll see emails, phone numbers, and a mailing address, each with a one-click copy button.
A blue badge next to an email or phone means an external provider verified it — hover the badge to see when. Prioritize verified entries for outreach.
Export to get contact info in bulk. If you need contact info for many donors at once, export a list or your search results to a spreadsheet instead of revealing profiles one by one.
Use the Notes card to record call summaries, meeting takeaways, or ask strategy. Notes are shared with your whole team, and you can edit or delete any note at any time.
Example: you just wrapped up a great discovery call with a prospect. Leave a note with what you learned, and the next teammate who opens the profile will see it!
Donors with notes are automatically gathered into a dedicated list on the page, so you can always find the prospects you've written about.
Next, we'll walk through the giving sections of the profile — the donor's philanthropic and political giving history.
